Thank you for your interest in interning for Congresswoman Maloy! An internship in Congresswoman Maloy’s office allows students to experience the American legislative process firsthand and apply their research and communication skills in areas of public policy.
Residents of the Second District and students or recent graduates from Utah universities are given preference, regardless of major.

An intern in Washington may:
As an intern in Washington D.C., students will have a front row seat to the inner workings of Congress. They will also have access to our nation’s rich history and institutions. All travel and living arrangements are the responsibility of the intern.
An intern in Bountiful or St. George may:
As an intern in the district, students will have unique opportunities not experienced in Washington D.C. as they assist Rep. Maloy’s staff in serving her constituents. All travel and living arrangements are the responsibility of the intern.
Application Process:
Each year, there are three internship periods—Spring, Summer, and Fall—that generally align with the semesters at Utah's universities. The Spring internship typically begins in early January and concludes in late April or early May. The Summer internship starts in early May and runs through August, while the Fall internship begins in late August or September and ends in December. Start and end dates will accommodate students' semester schedules.
Applicants for Spring internship should begin applying in September and submit their applications by early October.
Summer internship applicants should apply starting in February and have their applications submitted by early March.
Fall internship applicants should begin to apply in June and no later than early July.
